The COVID-19 pandemic has also spawned an “infodemic” – where life-saving facts and genuine expertise are often overrun by half-truths, lies, and scams going viral online.

How do we support fact-based discourse, and hold our social media platforms to account?

At this briefing in the Australia Institute’s ‘Australia at Home’ series, QUT Researchers Axel Bruns and Timothy Graham presented original research showing coordinated dissemination of conspiracy theories relating to the pandemic and the public impact of such content.
