A quick heads-up for anyone in the Brisbane region: I'll be on ABC radio 612 this afternoon, some time after 1 p.m., getting interviewed by Richard Fidler about YouTube. Questions we'll cover may include:

  • What kind of videos are on YouTube?

  • Who is using it?

  • Will YouTube change the way we access entertainment/info/news?

  • How is it different to MySpace?

  • Are there any censorship/copyright issues?

  • How do we know if videos are genuine?

  • What are the potential pitfalls for users accessing YouTube?

We'll probably kickstart with the recent incident where CNN anchor Kyra Phillips accidentally left on her microphone during a toilet break - a file which is now widely available through YouTube...


Update: And unrelated to the 612 interview, I've now also pre-recorded an interview about news blogging with 2SER radio in Sydney, for the Fourth Estate programme. Sydneysiders should be able to catch it next Monday, 9-9.30 a.m.!
