Social media is so prevalent in our lives, it provides us with of-the-moment news and a soapbox for us to share our views and opinions. Who decides on the content that we see? Between algorithms, machine learning and human-in-the-loop is what we see as news fact checked? How can we tell what is real and what is fake news? Join UQ School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering Associate Professor Gianluca Demartini and QUT Digital Media Research Centre’s Professor Axel Bruns for an informal discussion on news curation, the power of social media and the public sphere.
