Global PR Week

This from Trevor Cook:

I've been busy organising this inaugural event to be held from 12 - 16 July

The purpose of the week is to focus on some key issues and attract attention to the emerging role of PR bloggers in developing and spreading knowledge about public relations. Often decried as a secretive profession we want to share our knowledge with everyone and encourage a better understanding of the contribution we make to our societies

So far 24 PR Bloggers from US, Canada, England, Ireland, Hungary and Sweden have signed up to post papers and lead discussions during the week

There will also be online interviews with Dan Gillmor whose book "We, the media" is due for release in July and Jay Rosen head of journalism at NYU.

The broad topics are: PR in the Age of Participatory Journalism, Corporate Blogging, Making PR Work: Creativity and Strategy, Crisis Management, The State of the PR Profession

A full list of participants, their chosen topics and links to their blogs can be found at the conference wiki

I expect the event will receive coverage in PRWeek.com in the next week or so.

Hope you find this interesting, Trevor
