Haven't written for a while, but (because) much is going on. I'm currently preparing the 2003 fibreculture conference here in Brisbane, with a host of colleagues, and am also hoping to get in a grant proposal for a project I'm developing with my colleague Liz Ferrier at UQ.
Add to that day-to-day teaching and the plans for a new Journalism portal at QUT, and I'm plenty busy. In the meantime, I've also received a variety of new Prog DVDs (including the PFM in Japan DVD I've mentioned before, and a little miracle of a Van der Graaf Generator live in 1971 recording - in many ways, this is VdGG's Live in Pompeii, albeit only 30 minutes of it).
Also in the news: my article for Media International Australia has been accepted, and the M/C Journal 'share' issue I'm editing with my colleague and near-namesake Alex Burns is almost good to go. Feature article by Graham Meikle.
Finally, the brother of a former student of mine sends me new year's greetings from Thailand, in German. Small world.
